Adelynn - NEWBORN Photography
For this blog I wanted to have Addy’s mother share her sweet daughter’s story so I asked Inga if she would share her experience with me to post on my blog, this is what she said:
“Addy’s situation is somewhat unusual, which is why she was wearing a sweater that said “one of a kind” in your photoshoot, she is truly unique. At 3 days old Addy ended up in Cardiogenic shock, which not many people survive. The specialists in Edmonton have never seen anything like what Addy had, they discussed her case amongst all cardiologist and their subspecialists of western Canada and no one had seen anything like Addy’s condition.
They were shocked by how sick she was and equally as shocked by how well she is recovering. Long story short, they were never able to give us any answers for what caused this to occur and they are just treating the symptoms they could diagnose. We never thought in a million years that after having been told we had a “textbook pregnancy” that we would find ourselves in Edmonton at the Children’s Hospital for 54 days. We are beyond grateful for the care she received not only at the Stollery but at the Red Deer Regional Hospital as well, if it wasnt for the care of all of her medical team our girl would not have been the subject of your photoshoot.
She has truly made me appreciate each moment life gives you and to not take things for granted. She has brought us closer to our friends and family than ever before and we have learned that it truly does take a village to raise a child. We could have done it without all the support we received.”
I was honestly surprised to find out that Addy had been through so much, she was the happiest baby all throughout her session, constantly smiling and looking at her parents with so much love in her eyes. This will always be a favourite session of mine and I hope to be able to capture more of Addy’s story. <3
