Pine & Peak Photography | Aliesha Ziegler | Red Deer, Alberta

My name is Aliesha, you can usually find me watching Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter for the 8046984th time while editing away in my office.  I live in Red Deer, Alberta, where I was born and raised, in a fur-filled house with my husband, Ryan.  We have two dogs and a cat so basically our floors are never clean and I leave a trail of dog hair wherever I go.

I am obsessed with the mountains (does my logo give that away?!), we try to go hiking/camping as much as possible and spend our free time exploring the beauty this amazing province has to offer. As obsessed as I am with mountains, they come second to my love of photography.  I don’t think there is anything else in this world that would make me get up at 5am and sit for an hour in -30°C trying to get the perfect sunrise shot.

When it comes to working with families, couples, or businesses I always try my best to create bright, colourful images loaded with emotion.  I know how uncomfortable it can be to have your photos taken and how stressful it can be to get the family ready to go and make it to the location on time.  My number one goal during a session is to make sure everyone feels comfortable and that everyone is having fun!  If you look through my portfolio you might notice that I have very few “stand here and smile forcibly at the camera” photos.  I use prompts, silly games, and activities to invoke genuine emotions so you won’t ever have to worry what to do with your hands or try to force your toddler to stand-still (99% of the time that just ain’t happening!). And if you still feel awkward, don’t worry because I will always out-awkward you because that’s just who I am as a person.

I also think it’s SOOOO incredibly important to make sure that we get along before our session, especially if it’s for your wedding! We’re basically going to be hanging out allllll day on what will likely be one of the best days of your life, so we’ve got to make sure that we vibe! That’s why I include engagement sessions in all packages, to make sure we connect and truly dig each other, otherwise you could just end up with some stranger you don’t even really like following you around all day!

If you ever want to go for a coffee, ask me any questions, or even want to see some photos of my animals (there are literally thousands of them on my phone alone), click the ‘let’s chat’ button below and we will do just that!
